Has there ever been a rodeo video game before? You know, bull riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, and other cowboy stuff like that? I’m sure there has been at some point, but in all my years of gaming I’ve never played, seen, or even heard of one. Until now!
New indie publisher SFC Rodeo Games, along with developer Perpetual FX, will fill the rodeo game void this holiday season with the PS3-exclusive release of Top Hand Rodeo Tour.
Powered by the Gamebryo LightSpeed game engine, Top Hand Rodeo Tour will be available in December as a PSN downloadable game featuring competitive rodeo sport events such as Team Roping, Barrel Racing, Tie-down Roping and more. You’ll be able to rope ‘n ride against the pros in the pro rodeo circuit mode or take on other would-be cowboys/cowgirls in local and/or online multiplayer, complete with customizable and upgradeable characters and horses. The game will also make use of Sony’s PlayStation Move motion controller for, hopefully, 1:1 lasso swinging.
No idea what the game actually looks like at this point, but it sounds kinda promising, and at least it’s something different. Who else is up for some PlayStation Move rodeo action?
