For the second week in a row, Sony has delivered a full slate of awesome PS3 content to download in the latest PlayStation Store Thursday update. This evening’s update includes demos for Stranglehold (finally!) and NBA Live 08, game trailers and videos for Turok, PixelJunk Racers, Lair, MotorStorm and Heavenly Sword (the fifth installments in the anime and “Making of…” series), movie trailers for Drillbit Tailer and Resident Evil: Extinction, and new Heavenly Sword wallpaper.
In addition, add-on content for MotorStorm and Ninja Gaiden Sigma has also been released. The MotorStorm Revenge Weekend Add-on Pack features the new Coyote Revenge track, four new vehicles in three styles each (Wakazashi Razor bike, Wombat Mudslide ATV, Atlas Varjack mudplugger, and Atlas Arizona big rig), the Revenge Weekend festival containing nine new races and a new Eliminator online mode, all for only $5.99 (the four vehicles are available individually for 99 cents apiece too). It’s all content that probably should’ve been included with the original release to begin with and thusly would have been great to see released for free, but the pricing is nice and cheap so it’s not too big a deal.
Evolution Studios Gameplay Manager Jed Ashforth has just blogged a sneak preview on all the new Revenge Weekend content (screens included) over at the PlayStation.Blog, so fellow MotorStorm fans will certainly want to check that out. And don’t forget, the MotorStorm 2.0 update patch is also available now as well.
As for Ninja Gaiden Sigma, the first of three upcoming add-ons is now available, introducing five Weapons Master survival modes for $2.99.
On a side note, in downloading all this new content I’ve noticed that I’m getting much faster download speeds on the PSN tonight than I ever have before. I mean, the massive Stranglehold demo is already over 50% complete in only around 30 minutes now — demos half the size have taken probably twice the time in the past. Anyone else noticing quicker download speeds or is it just me? Just curious…
