Prepare to be Ruined by this Anime-Inspired Cyberpunk Shooter

Ruiner

Devolver Digital seems to be on an unstoppable roll right now. The indie game publisher’s latest production is Ruiner, the debut title from Reikon Games, a team of former developers behind games like The Witcher, Dead Island, and Dying Light.

Set in the cyberpunk metropolis of Rengkok and starring a protagonist described as being a “wired psychopath [who] lashes out against a corrupt system to retrieve his kidnapped brother under the guidance of a secretive hacker friend,” Ruiner is a story-driven isometric shooter coming to PC/Mac/Linux later this year. However, the game isn’t pure cyberpunk as the theme is typically depicted.” No, Ruiner‘s dark, brutal style has been “created in the spirit of cult cyberpunk anime.” Buzzwordy descriptors aside, the game’s looking pretty rad.
