Project Aces, Namco Bandai’s in-house dev team responsible for the acclaimed Ace Combat franchise, has a new flight combat game out in Japan for the Wii called The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces, and this holiday season it’ll be coming stateside courtesy of XSEED Games.
”I’m extremely pleased to be able to confirm The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces for gamers in North America,” said Jun Iwasaki, President of XSEED Games. “The innovative control scheme and gorgeous visuals just go to show what a top-notch development team can do when creating a new game from scratch specifically for Wii.”
The Sky Crawlers, based on a Japanese novel series and anime film of the same name, follows the story of a rookie pilot codenamed “Lynx” who becomes involved in a top secret project in which the military is attempting to make pilots immortal. In the game, you will use the Nunchuk as your flight stick, tilting it around to turn, pitch and roll, and the Wii Remote as the throttle, tilting it up to accelerate and down to decelerate.
