A new gameplay trailer for the next-gen PC and console fantasy FPS title Project Offset has emerged this week. Apparently, the video was meant for internal purposes but was leaked out when it shouldn’t have been and is now making its rounds on the net. The trailer, viewable in full below, provides the first-ever look at real-time gameplay footage from the ultra-ambitious project, and good golly does it look incredible.

Yeah, I’ve seen and read a lot about the Offset engine. It’s pretty and does a lot of advanced stuff…but so do UE3, Crytek2, the new id Engine, and all that. What it comes down to is this:
It’s gorgeous and looks fun.
Honestly, though…whenever I watch anything about this, all I can think of is that they need to rename it to “Call of Duty: Medieval Times”…just all the prettiness and the scripted events and such. lol
Doesn’t remind me of Call of Duty that much lol, with the apparent third-person elements and the class-based gameplay and such it’s going to have. Well, I guess you could say it’s like an Oblivion crossed with a Call of Duty with a dash of Lord of the Rings…
Just looks freaking gorgeous, so far I think it looks more advanced than any of those other engines you named. I’ve been hyped for Project Offset ever since it was tech demoed on G4 a couple years back, nice to see some real-time gameplay finally.
