Microsoft and Square Enix have announced today that Project Sylpheed for the Xbox 360 has gone gold and will begin shipping to retailers on July 10 at a price of $39.99. To celebrate the game’s gold status, a playable demo has been released on the Xbox Live Marketplace and the official game website has been launched at www.project-sylpheed.com.
If that wasn’t enough, a new trailer and screenshot batch have also been released with today’s gold announcement. All the latest media is posted for your viewing below (the trailer can also be found at the game’s website and on the Live Marketplace).

I really enjoyed the demo more that I thought I would. Glad to see they are going to see it for $40.
I’m really looking forward to the game and dying to check out the demo, but my damn 360 is off being replaced after breaking down on me for the second time, so it’ll be a few weeks before I get it back still. Hopefully sooner rather than later…
I definitely agree on the cheaper price point for this title. I think Msoft should’ve gone the same route with games like Tenchu Z and the upcoming Vampire Rain as well, neither of those strike me as full priced productions.
…..hate to say I told you so on Tenchu Z, Matt…that franchise is dead and gone, man.
As for this game, I haven’t really followed much of it, as honestly, Square hasn’t done enough to impress me since….well, Final Fantasy XII…and even that didn’t hold my interest like I was hoping it would. Dragon Quest VIII was sweet, but only because it was nostalgic at best as well as a solidly built game. Honestly, I’m looking more forward to the stuff coming out of Mistwalker.
Well, I just got in a copy of Tenchu Z to review, so we’ll see once I get my 360 back. It’s been ripped hard in the reviews so far, but as you well know I don’t trust any reviews from the big sites anymore. I know it’s not going to be the greatest game in the world, but the Tenchu games are always pretty fun if you just take them for what they are.
Getting back on topic, I haven’t followed Project Sylpheed all that much, I just like it when the 360 actually gets some good looking titles that aren’t FPSs. Plus, I’m an admitted Squenix whore, so I’m always interested in any new title from them.
