PS2 Games Look Horrible on PS3?

Seeing as how I don’t yet own a PlayStation 3, I’ll have to defer to our resident PS3 owner Rachel to check out this claim when she has the chance. If you watch the below footage, you’ll notice that the left half (that of the PS3) is much more jaggier than than the PS2 (on the right side). Gamers are citing the PS3’s sub-par upscaling of 480i games (of which the PS2 has many) to a higher resolution is causing this effect when bringing the video quality up to high-definition format. Apparently Sony has yet to acknowledge this as an problem, so there is no official word on if a future patch can/will be released to correct it. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
