When the PS3 was first coming out, the hype around its use of Blu-ray mainly involved the possibilities of larger games, grander detail, and expanded content not possible on other, smaller media formats. Lately, it seems publishers are using the extra storage space to toss on free games and other goodies. That’s A-OK with me!
Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension came with four HD episodes from the TV series. The new RPG White Knight Chronicles II comes with the full original game. Dead Space 2 came with Dead Space: Extraction. And even BioShock Infinite will come with the original BioShock. Whenever it’s finally released.
Now it’s Assassin’s Creed‘s turn!
When Assassin’s Creed: Revelations ships November 15th for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, “day one” copies of the PS3 version will feature the full original Assassin’s Creed adventure right on the same Blu-ray disc, bringing the journeys of Ezio and Altaïr full circle for newcomers and existing fans who may need a story refresh.
If you want this combo pack, I suggest you pre-order soon, if you haven’t already. It sounds like only the first printing will come with the on-disc freebie.
