According to a report by IGN this weekend, the recently confirmed PS3 port of the once Xbox 360-exclusive RPG Eternal Sonata is set to feature some special bonus content not found in the 360 version that’s launching this week. Namco Bandai and tri-Crescendo have revealed that the PS3 version will contain added plot events that flesh out the story even more, two new playable characters in Crescendo and Serenade, and a special costume system.
Those are some sweet bonuses PS3 owners will be getting for patiently awaiting the game’s 2008 arrival in Japan (no confirmation of a North American release yet). It’ll now be interesting to see if these features make it to the 360 in a downloadable content pack or if early adopters of the 360 version get the shaft. The new characters and costume system seem like they’d be easy to release as a download, but the additional story events probably not so much.
