PS3 Firmware v3.00 Update Preview

PlayStation Network Operations Director, Eric Lempel just dropped in on the PlayStation blog with an early preview of what’s coming in the next PS3 firmware update, v3.00. The update’s main focus is on tweaking the XMB with intuitive new navigation and status features and some minor cosmetic changes. Highlights include a “What’s New” section replacing the Information Board, a new Status Indicator bar in the top right corner of the screen, more PSN store shortcuts throughout the XMB menus, new dynamic themes, new avatars, and added support for developers to seperate base trophies and add-on trophies in the trophy list.
