As many analysts had been predicting, Sony is cutting the price on the PlayStation 3 heading into the holiday season.

Effective immediately — that means today, yo! — the 160GB PS3 has been slashed from $300 down to $250 and the 320GB PS3 has been reduced from $350 down to $300. In Europe and PAL territories, the prices are similarly reduced to euro 249 and 299, respectively. And in Japan, price cuts to 24,980 yen and 29,980 yen will begin on August 18th.

Better yet, Sony has also released a limited edition inFamous 2 bundle throughout North America today which includes the 320GB model, a copy of inFamous 2 and a 30-day PlayStation Plus trial membership for the same slashed price of $300.

Any PS3 holdouts still out there? Will you now be buying a PS3?
