Indie developer KoukouStudios recently launched a Greenlight campaign for its first title, Lethe – Episode One, a first-person exploration game that, going by the gameplay teaser, has the atmospheric horror vibe of the Amnesia games (maybe even hints of Outlast and BioShock) crossed with physics-based psychokinetic manipulation like something out of Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. I can telekinetically pick up a box, hold it to a torch and send it floating ablaze down a hallway? I’m totally down with that.
The Unreal Engine adventure centers on a journalist named Robert Dawn who is investigating an isolated island set in a 20s steampunk world when he discovers a strange substance which grants him supernatural powers while poisoning him at the same time. Obviously this is the type of game that is going to have some great mystery to figure out about the history of what took place on this island.
Lethe – Episode One definitely has my Greenlight vote. Check it out and see if it makes your thumb point in an upward direction.
