Valkyria Chronicles II, revealed in Japan not too long ago as a PSP sequel to the brilliant PS3 SRPG launched in late 2008, is officially on for a North American release in Summer 2010.
Valkyria Chronicles II is a true sequel too, not a spin-off or downsized port, with the story set to pick up two years after the original. With the PSP in mind, Sega has also gone back to tweak the beautiful “CANVAS” graphics engine and tactical real-time “BLiTZ” battle system that made the PS3 game so unique and compelling, keeping both intact while optimizing them for portable play.
“Valkyria Chronicles is a genuine hidden gem on PS3™,” said Sean Ratcliffe, VP of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. “It was one of the PS3’s most highly rated tactical RPG games so we’re delighted to offer PSP system owners to play Valkyria Chronicles 2. It’s one of our most cherished franchises so we hope the fans will welcome this exclusive sequel.”
Sega released this teaser to celebrate the announcement. Be sure not to blink or you’ll miss it. Yes, it’s that short!
