Now here’s a rare instance where a DLC season pass actually makes complete sense.
Being an interactive video game adaptation of the CGI animated TV series of the same name and all, it’s not surprising to hear that Rabbids Invasion, launching next week as a motion control camera title for PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One (the lack of a Wii U version is baffling), will offer a season pass to extend the fun months after release.
On top of the 21 episodes included right out of the box, the season pass will cover the roll out of an additional 15 episodes to span five monthly DLC packs of three episodes each, starting from launch day through March 2015.
The only detail missing, of course, is the price. As of yet, Ubisoft has not announced pricing for the season pass or the individual DLC packs. The game itself will retail for $40, so if the DLC pricing goes any higher than $20 for the pass or $5 per add-on, I doubt there will be many takers.
Here’s a look at the original announcement trailer. (Ubisoft hasn’t been pushing any new videos for the game in a while. At least none that I could find.)
