Raiden Rises at TGS

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has never looked, sounded, or felt more like a Metal Gear game than it does in this new trailer from the Tokyo Game Show. Sure it has the unmistakable PlatinumGames flair with all the crazy swordplay and slow-mo manual body party slicing, but it still ticks off many of the important Metal Gear boxes. Stealth underpins the action. There’s the usual mix of battlefield melodrama and odd humor. And there are some insane bosses for Raiden to contend with. (That chick has like 16 arms! And that dude’s like some futuristic, magnetic reincarnation of Stretch Armstrong!) I’m left saying “what the fuck did I just watch?” and “holy shit, that was awesome!” in the the same breath. Yep, it’s definitely a Metal Gear game.
