Today Activision has announced the launch of Rapala Fishing Frenzy at retailers across North America for PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. The Wii and PS3 versions stand out in particular for their motion-control capabilities. On Wii the game actually comes bundled with a special fishing rod attachment that cradles the Wii Remote and Nunchuk for more comfortable grip and reel action. The PS3 version doesn’t get a special controller add-on, but does put the Sixaxis motion sensors to use for setting the hook and reeling in those mighty lunkers.

“We’ve focused on the thrill of battling trophy fish,” said Dave Oxford, Activision Publishing. “Rapala Fishing Frenzy offers the kind of fierce action that fishermen score on only their best days.”

Rapala Fishing Frenzy is in stores now for $39.99 on PS3 and Xbox 360 and $49.99 on Wii. Hit the jump for a pic of the Wii’s nifty fishing rod peripheral.
