Ratchet & Clank Goes Open-World, Sort of…

With Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, Insomniac Games decided to build upon the space travel and combat from previous installments and really open things up, as has been unveiled in this new video posted over at the PlayStation blog. So now instead of blasting through linear, on-rails shooter missions or simply watching transition cut-scenes of Ratchet’s ship traveling between planets you’ll actually get to freely explore the galaxy and take on optional side missions if you so choose. You’ll also be able to upgrade your ship and even listen to funny music, commercials and talk shows on Space Radio, a la GTA. Spherical worlds are making a comeback too…sweet!
