Atari’s projected Spring 2009 launch for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena actually held firm with the publisher today confirming April ship dates for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 title in North America and Europe. Starbreeze’s all-in-one remake/expansion of Xbox and PC game The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay is scheduled to ship on April 7th in North America and April 24th across Europe. On top of that, Atari also announces that playable demos of the console versions will be released on Xbox Live and PSN sometime in March. No word yet if there will be a PC demo, but I’d be surprised if there wasn’t.

Assault on Dark Athena‘s final box artwork has now been revealed as well — hit the jump for a gallery of 2D and 3D pack shots for all three versions. Don’t forget to check out the sweet new “Hunter” trailer while you’re at it.
