See How Mortal Kombat’s Fatalities Were Created, Plus More Secret Character Rejects

Fatalities are the lifeblood of the Mortal Kombat franchise, for the way they allow players to finish off their opponents in satisfyingly gruesome ways, and for the comedic value they add to lighten the game’s extreme gore factor. For the latest Mortal Kombat installment, available now for PS3 and Xbox 360 (and worth every bloody penny of its asking price, I might add), the team at NetherRealm Studios went all out to produce the nastiest and funniest fatalities yet, as you can see in this new behind-the-scenes video.

And speaking of fatalities, here’s another star-studded episode in Machinima’s hilarious series of rejected secret character fatalities. In this episode we get to see the darker side of Excitebike, Earthworm Jim, Dig Dug, Golden Axe, Donkey Kong and Kirby. Kirby’s is without a doubt the most disgusting!
