Sonic is coming back for another crack at mascot racing stardom in a sequel to Sonic Riders, subtitled Zero Gravity. Sonic Team back at the helm, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity is being developed for a February 2008 release on the PS2 and Wii and will feature two unique new gravity controlling maneuvers, innovative new tracks, new playable characters and even faster speeds — no specifics on the Wiimote functionality as of yet. As long as the courses and controls are a little more forgiving than the original, this game should be a treat.
“Speed and agility is what built the Sonic franchise,” said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA® of America, Inc. “Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity offers long-time Sonic fans, and newcomers alike, the adrenaline-pumping gameplay and moves that made the blue hedgehog famous, while adding a plethora of completely new elements to the Sonic world. Packed with new and innovative features, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity delivers a rush that gamers can’t resist.”
Finally another sonic game to add to my wii collection. Those tracks sure look as fun to race in as they look.I just can’t wait to have the sonic riders zero gravity injoyment. Sonic’s a hedgehog that cant be beat when it comes to apeedy racing games.
Looks fun and great video too.I hope this game has metal sonic as a playeble robot in multiplayer mode.Other than that the game seens to still be a great game with or without metal sonic in it.Diffinitly getting this game.
Yep, should be a good time. The original Sonic Riders had some issues but was fun overall. Hopefully the second time around Sonic Team can polish everything up, and with the Wii controls it should be even better.
The Secret Rings game on Wii was pretty well made. I didn’t like the first Sonic Riders much, but hopefully that’ll change with this one.
My honest belief, though: avoid.
