Sleeping Dogs 101 is Now in Session

SleepingDogs

Class, please be seated. In today’s course, Sleeping Dogs 101, you’ll learn what it means to be an undercover cop tasked with taking down the gritty triad underbelly of open-world Hong Kong. If you’ve been taking notes on action games released within the past five to ten years, you’ll have a head start.

Sleeping Dogs‘ influences are vast. I see nods to all sorts of games: Stranglehold, Max Payne, GTA, Pursuit Force, Wheelman, Rise to Honor, Yakuza, Need for Speed, L.A. Noire…the list goes on. That’s not a complaint either. Having so many different things going on is exactly what you want from a sandbox crime drama.

Sleeping Dogs wakes up for its retail launch date of August 14th on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Something tells me you’re gonna want to play it.

Class dismissed.
