SOE and Midway Team Up for PS3 Download Titles

Sony Online EntertainmentSony Online Entertainment has announced today that it has struck up a deal with Midway Home Entertainment for the rights to release six classic Midway titles as downloadable games on the PS3’s PlayStation Network online store. The six titles include Mortal Kombat II, Gauntlet II, Joust, Rampage World Tour, Rampart and Championship Sprint, each specifically chosen for their capacity for multiplayer gameplay. These games are scheduled to begin releasing sometime early this year.

SOE has also just released the PS3-revamped GripShift on the PlayStation Network, and having played the demo it seems to have turned out nicely. The PS Network appears to be a promising platform in its early life thus far. Now if only Sony would update the interface so you can download stuff in the background…
