Soldier of Fortune Payback Announced for PC, PS3 and 360

After a few years off, Activision is resurrecting the Soldier of Fortune series at long last for a new release on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 titled Soldier of Fortune Payback. Already due out in November, Soldier of Fortune Payback brings the series up to speed with the “raw, gritty realism of modern warfare” with you taking on the role of a hired mercenary out to blow the shit out of terrorists, limbs and all. Payback is set to feature an enhanced enemy damage system, over 30 weapons, tighter controls and full support for online play complete with Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Elimination, Team Elimination, Capture the Flag and Demolition modes, multiplayer-tuned maps and stat-tracking.

Check out the new trailer, box art and first screenshots after the break. There’s also a better trailer around the web with the gore turned on, displaying the game’s blood-spattering, limb-severing action in full force — Google search and you should be able to find it. I don’t know about you, but I’m psyched for this big time. It just looks like pure fun.
