[Sony Gamers’ Day 09] The Artsy Side of inFamous

InfamousConceptArt.jpg

inFamous looks absolutely gorgeous in terms of pure technical fidelity, but from these amazing new concept art images it’s clear that Sucker Punch put a lot of effort into creating a strong sense of style to distinguish the game from the many other sandbox action games that are flooding the market these days.

And it’s hard to argue with the results. While perhaps a bit too dark in tone for some, the gritty, comic-book-style art bleeds into the in-game graphics and brings the game to life with a unique visual style that just is “inFamous”. This shouldn’t come as a surprise either. Sucker Punch’s artistic team has already proven to be masters of art direction with the Sly Cooper series. inFamous looks to be just another feather in their cap.

Check out the gallery below to sample some of the slick artwork Sucker Punch has created for this game. If you love pouring over concept art even half as much as I do you’re in for a real treat.
