Some games age a little more gracefully than others. Hell, I’m playing a lot of old PS1 titles right now that are shocking me with how well they still hold up graphically. Sadly, the classic Dreamcast fighter Soul Calibur, which is getting a ported HD release via the Xbox Live Arcade this summer, is not a game that appears to have aged all that well, at least judging from these new screens just in from Namco Bandai. No, the game doesn’t look that bad at all, but when it originally hit the Dreamcast it was one of the defining graphical showcases of that console era, so to see how dated it’s become is just kinda sad. But oh well, it’s still an all-time classic fighting game and will surely be a must-download XBLA title.
