SoulCalibur V Fights Back in 2012

Namco Bandai sure has a full plate when it comes to fighting games. Tekken X Street Fighter and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 are already underway, and now the publisher’s Project Soul team is hard at work on the next SoulCalibur installment, which is on tap for a 2012 launch on PS3 and Xbox 360 according to the new teaser trailer embedded up top.

A few more tidbits were revealed in the accompanying press release, namely that the story will take place 17 years after the end of SoulCalibur IV, chronicling Patroklos’, son of Sophitia Alexandra, tale of souls and swords. The game is also said to feature refined weapon-based combat, new fighters, and expanded online play and character creation components. I’m sure we’ll be finding out even more at E3 coming up, so don’t wander too far!
