Starcraft 2 officially announced by Blizzard!

The sequel to the greatest RTS of all time has finally been announced by Blizzard. Check out all the details at starcraft2.com. It appears that game has been in development since 2003, and it is currently in a pre-alpha stage. Starcraft 2 will be 3D, and feature the 3 original races; Terran (my favorite), Protoss, and Zerg. There is no word on how it will work with the current Battle.net service. From the initial release, this looks to be a PC title only, with no announcements on a console version of the game planned.

The CGI introduction video is up at youtube.
