I just don’t get why people loved StarCraft SOOOOOO much, that’s all. It’s a good RTS if you are into it, but I don’t know. Maybe I’m just that much of a pacifist.

Also, if you want something where every unit has something to counter it, you should check out Command and Conquer 3. I’ve really enjoyed it, and in recent memory, it’s the only thing that’s pulled me away from WoW so much. Not even God of War II did it!

Very exciting! I really enjoyed the original Starcraft and will definitely pick up the sequel.

I really enjoy the Command & Conquer series as well, but I feel that Starcraft’s greatest attribute was the balance between the races. The 3 races were so unique and different, yet the game was (at least at high levels) very balanced. Typically in professional Stacraft games terran had the edge over zerg, zerg had the edge over terran, and protoss had the edge over terran. Any race could win with the correct strategy though. Each unit had a counter unit.

My top RTS games of all time: 1-Starcraft, 2-Total Annihilation, 3-C&C Red Alert

Personally, I like all of the WarCraft games better, and the games you mentioned as well Josh are damn tough to beat in the RTS genre these days.

Personally, I didn’t like it. I know that makes me one out of a zillion. Still, I think that Company of Heroes, Command and Conquer 3, and Supreme Commander are far better RTS games than StarCraft was. It was well-balanced, yes…but Zerg = win almost every time, and that’s just no fun. Then again, Scorp rush on C&C 3 isn’t that much better…but it’s getting nerfed.
