Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor Locked and Loaded For June Launch

Beyond Halo 4, Microsoft clearly seems intent on making 2012 the year of Kinect, as most of the publisher’s first-party productions are for Kinect and numerous third parties are also embracing Xbox 360 motion control stronger than ever. At the top of the list of non-kiddie Kinect games is Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor, the mech–I mean Vertical Tank–battlefield simulation coming your way courtesy of Capcom and From Software.

The good news is that this installment won’t require some massive (and expensive) control pad to run; just plug in your Kinect and grab a regular Xbox 360 controller, and you’ll be good to go.

The other good news is that of this week’s confirmation of official Western launch dates. Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor‘s Kinect invasion is scheduled to begin June 19th in North America and June 22nd in Europe. Prepare for battle by watching the two new videos below–one’s a story trailer, the other features nearly five minutes of straight gameplay footage–and browsing the latest gallery of screenshots.
