Super Meat Boy Launches at Limited-Time Sale Price

Annoyed by the recent price hike on Xbox Live Arcade titles from their usual base price of 800 MS Points to 1200 MS Points? Team Meat hears you, and that’s why the studio is launching its hardcore 2D platformer, Super Meat Boy, at a discounted sale price.

Super Meat Boy, the third serving in Microsoft’s XBLA Game Feast promotion, is out today, and instead of selling for what has become the 1200-point pricing standard, it only costs 800 points ($10). That sale price will remain in place until November 21st, at which point the price will go up to 1200 points ($15). So you have a full month to decide whether or not to take the plunge into the meat grinder. Oh yes, this game is mighty tough, my friends!

So, should you buy it? Well, the controls are a bit too slippery for my liking, which makes the repeated deaths more frustrating since it often seems like I’m failing because of a loose control than user error. But definitely…if you enjoy platformers that beat you over the head with difficulty (it’s similar in concept to N+), you’re gonna love this game to bloody, meaty pieces.
