Super Smash Bros. Brawl Now In Stores

SSBB.jpg At long last, the wait for Super Smash Bros. Brawl is finally over. To what has to be the largest nationwide launch extravaganza in gaming history, what with damn near every GameStop/EB Games store and a few Best Buys hosting launch tournaments and parties over the weekend, the uber Wii mascot fighter is now available at North American retail. Zach didn’t find the GameStop tournament to be all that special, but at least the game itself has lived up to all the hype and expectation.

“The excitement around Super Smash Bros. Brawl is contagious,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “It’s a delight to see how the creators have taken an already irresistible series and made it even deeper and more fun for Wii. We’re just as thrilled as the fans are.”

As for Nintendo and Best Buy’s launch tournament finale in NY, here are a few photos from the event provided by Nintendo, including a shot of the national champion, Daniel Jung (right side, first pic).
