What can i say SF II Turbo HD remix looks great, plays great. For once you can actualy feel a difference, when you play either Ken or Ryu, Both equal in skill but yet differant (which is nice). Its a shame that we only get to try Ken or Ryu it would of been nice to try a couple more characters just to feel what the overall balance is like. The only let down for me is the 360 controller, for me it just doesn’t give you the same level responce as the controller on the SNES did but overall this version on Street fight is awesome.
Man, you read my mind! I just finished giving the SFIITHDR beta a quick first peek a few minutes ago and I feel exactly the same way. The new HD art is beautiful and the gameplay is definitely there, but it just doesn’t work for me with the 360 controller. In the similar way that many people don’t think the PS3 controller works well for FPSs, I don’t think the 360 controller is very good with fighting games, especially of the 2D variety. Even without playing it I can already tell that the PSN version will control better, but I guess that’s more personal preference than anything else.
For me its not the lay out of the buttons its just the general size & shape of the controller, where as the SNES controller fitted perfectly in your hands so thunmbs could glide over the D-pad & buttons with ease, Spinning Piledriver could be pulled off no problem, but as their say “practice makes perfect”
See, my problem is with the 360 pad’s analog sticks and D-pad. To me they just don’t reel right for playing fighting games. For whatever reason I just have problems getting special attacks to work consistently.
