Halloween is still over a month away, but don’t tell that to Atlus USA, they are in the mood to start celebrating the spooky fall holiday right now. As of last week, the initial stage of the 2008 Atlus-O-Weenie Halloween Costume Contest has begun. For the contest, Atlus wants its beloved “Faithful” (that means you) to dress up as their favorite Atlus character and submit a photo showing off their costume creation. Submissions aren’t being accepted until October 1st, but that doesn’t mean you should wait to get started. Once you see what’s in the grand prize swag pack you’ll stop what you’re doing right this instant and begin working on creating the best damn costume you can. Once all the submissions are in (Oct. 31st is the deadline), Atlus will choose their favorite costume and award the designer a prize pack containing the following:

* Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 Poster signed by Masayuki Doi (character designer)
* Growlanser: Illustration Archive signed by Satoshi Urushihara (character designer)
* Etrian Odyssey 2: Heroes of Lagaard 3-disc Music Collection
* Set of 3 Izuna 2: The Unemployed Ninja Returns Posters (including the super-rare third unreleased mini-poster)
* Persona 4 T-Shirt
* Dokapon Kingdom (your choice of PS2 or Wii)
* Large hardback promotional poster of an Atlus title of your choice (subject to availability)

Gotta love that! Five runners-up will also be randomly chosen to win the autographed Growlanser art book and the Persona 4 T-shirt, so even if you’re costume isn’t THE best you still have a chance to walk away with a pair of really sweet prizes.
