Zen Studios did a phenomenal job adapting Telltale’s The Walking Dead adventure series into a virtual pinball table, but nothing beats the real thing. And by real thing I mean this bad boy: A real-life The Walking Dead arcade pinball machine!

Made by Stern Pinball, The Walking Dead pinball machine pulls its design inspiration from AMC’s hit TV series. From the press release:

The drama tells the story of the months and years after a zombie apocalypse. Stern’s The Walking Dead pinball features everything fans would want in a flesh-eating pinball world. Players fight to survive the zombie apocalypse alongside series icon, Sheriff Rick Grimes, by battling zombies and completing various game missions. The game includes multiple zombie toys for adrenalin-filled zombie battles at familiar locations from the show such as the Prison and Cell Block C. A brilliant high-definition zombie-filled art package heightens the player’s excitement.

Stern’s take on The Walking Dead pinball is available in two models: A Pro Model starting at $5,995, and a Limited Edition for $8,595. For the increased price, the Limited Edition features mirrored back glass with alternate artwork as well as “unique special effects such as a fish tank with illuminated sculpted zombie heads and a motorized crossbow assembly that allows players to launch the ball anywhere in the game.”

This is The Walking Dead Do-Whatever-You-Need-to-Survive First-person Action Game You’ve Been Waiting For http://www.vgblogger.com/this-is-the-walking-dead-do-whatever-you-need-to-survive-first-person-action-game-youve-been-waiting-for/16579/ Sun, 15 Jul 2012 21:55:23 +0000 http://www.vgblogger.com/?p=16579 TheWalkingDead

Don’t call Activision and Terminal Reality’s official The Walking Dead video game a first-person shooter. According to the announcement press release, this all-new game based on the AMC TV series is a “do-whatever-you-need-to-survive first-person action game” starring crossbow-wielding badass, Daryl Dixon. As that unnecessarily long genre description implies, this game won’t be some stock-standard run-and-gun FPS. Ammo and supplies will be limited and stealth and avoidance will often be the best option in your attempt to survive the horde of undead walkers using their honed senses of sight, sound and smell to hunt you down.

The Walking Dead video game, not to be confused with Telltale’s episodic series based on the comics, will be available for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 next year.
