Today is a big day for Ascaron’s action-RPG Sacred 2: Fallen Angel. In the spirit of the holiday season, the game has been patched and updated with loads of free new content to keep gamers hacking and slashing across the lands of Ancaria through the New Year.
First up is the Content Update Patch 2.34 (aka Holiday Content Pack), a free update that includes a new Christmas Island area to explore, an all-new holiday-themed quest line, around 20 new creatures to slay, and new NPCs, armor sets for all of the game’s playable characters, and weapons. The update also comes with an enormous list of game fixes, including things like re-balanced Combat Arts, improved performance, cleaned up UI glitches, and plenty more.
On top of that, the beta version of the Sacred 2 Network has also now been launched at Sacred2.net. The Sacred 2 Network is a community portal for Closed-Net players to get together and compare scores, share profiles, earned medals, ranks and achievements, and so on.

According to Ascaron Entertainment and Intel’s stats, North American PC gaming is dominated by laptops to the tune of 70% of the market, and for that reason the two have partnered up to make Sacred 2: Fallen Angel a benchmark game for mobile PC gaming moving forward.
Thanks to the partnership, Sacred 2 will be the first game equipped and optimized to take full advantage of the Intel Centrino2 mobile processor technology, enabling it to “showcase more of its powerful graphics and gameplay on the mobile platform than ever before.” In addition, several other features are being worked in to improve the laptop gaming experience, including an ad-hoc multiplayer mode for quickly creating a wireless LAN to play with friends without the need of Internet access and built-in wireless signal strength and battery life indicators for players to keep track of vital system info from within the game.
CDV, Sacred 2‘s North American publisher, has provided an overview trailer explaining the game’s mobile features and even a few comparison screenshots showing the difference between Centrino vs. Centrino2, all of which you’ll find after the break.
