What could 5TH Cell, the development studio behind inventive DS titles like Drawn to Life, Scribblenauts and Lock’s Quest, possibly be working on next? Well, it’s an Xbox Live Arcade game that promises to be a “completely new experience,” but other than that I have no earthly idea. Whatever it turns out to be, though, I’m sure it’ll be something special, per usual with 5TH Cell games.

Fortunately, it won’t be too much longer until we find out what the mystery XBLA game is. A countdown clock has begun ticking down on the 5TH Cell website, leading to an unveil on SPIKE TV next Thursday, October 28 at 10 p.m. PDT.

Looking at the countdown page, the first thing that comes to mind is the moon landing based on what appear to be boot prints in gray, ashy dirt. So, I don’t know, maybe the game will have a sci-fi / space travel slant to it or something — or maybe the graphic is simply a red herring and my guess has the folks at 5TH Cell laughing at my attempt to figure it out.

Any other guesses out there? Any thoughts on what that triangular imprint might be?
