Now that Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is widely available across PC, PlayStation and Xbox platforms, Diamond Select Toys has revealed its master plan to launch a new line of “bloom and doom” action figures and Minimates based on the video game famous for making shooters weird.
The initial lineup, to be sold at Toys “R” Us and other specialty retailers, will include a series of four 5″ scale action figure combo packs, each containing a unique plant vs. zombie pairing, for a total of eight unique figures. The packs include:
– Gatling Pea with Scientist Zombie
– Camo Cactus with Foot Soldier Zombie
– Chomper with Engineer Zombie
– Shadow Flower with All-Star Zombie
Two different Minimate box sets will also be sold, one that will be exclusive to Toys “R” Us and one that will be sold at comic shops and specialty stores.
– Toys “R” Us set: Foot Soldier Zombie, Scientist Zombie, Chomper, Sunflower, and two Pea Shooters
– Comic shop/specialty stores set: Engineer Zombie, All-Star Zombie, Cactus, Sunflower, and two Pea Shooters
The action figures and Minimates are scheduled to go on sale beginning in September priced at $19.99 per set. If you’d rather pay nothing and still get your grubby hands on some sweet PvZ toys, Diamond Select is running a giveaway to award one lucky grand prize winner the complete action figure collection. Here are the entry guidelines, per the DST blog:
