Don’t trade your PS3 in for a PS4 just yet, folks–Drakengard 3 is coming. The bat shit insane PS3-exclusive action RPG about an older sister with a flower growing out of her eye going on a murder spree to kill off her five younger sisters will officially launch in North America on May 20th.

Square Enix also confirmed today the availability of a collector’s edition which will sell for $79.99 exclusively on the Square Enix Online Store, and will be limited to a first print run of just 5,000 copies. The collector’s edition contains a hardcover prequel novella, a double-sided poster, a CD soundtrack sampler, three pieces of DLC, and all pre-order bonuses.

The pre-order program for standard edition shoppers is now underway in a tiered format, the first of which offers a Japanese voiceover DLC. Pre-ordering the game anytime between now and March 3rd will unlock the voiceover pack and two additional bonuses that have not yet been revealed. The tier two pre-order phase will take place between March 4th and April 8th and include only the two remaining bonuses. The third tier containing only the final bonus will open from April 9 until launch day in May.

So, the longer you wait to pre-order, the fewer bonus items you will receive. The only way to lock in all three is to reserve a standard edition by March 3rd or buy the collector’s edition. That Japanese voiceover pack is a pretty big deal, so if you are a serious Drakengard fan you’re going to want to lock in your copy before it’s too late.

But before you scurry off, check out the game’s English opening sequence just released today by Square Enix. No, it doesn’t have the Japanese voiceovers, but it’s still pretty damn great. It’ll have you glued to the screen from the opening line: “Ummm, Zero. Can I go find a bush? I need to pee.” Japanese people are so crazy.
