Summertime is typically a slow period in the gaming business, with most publishers relaxing a bit before the big fall/winter crunch. But this summer is shaping up to be surprisingly busy. Well, it’ll certainly be a busy stretch for EA at least. Between the end of May and September, eight EA Games-branded titles are scheduled for release, the publishing giant confirmed today. The summer lineup includes:
– Battlefield: Bad Company (June 23; PS3, Xbox 360)
– Burnout Paradise (June; PS3, Xbox 360 free DLC update, PC)
– Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath (June; Xbox 360)
– Mass Effect (May 28; PC)
– Mercenaries 2: World in Flames (August 31; PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS2)
– Rock Band (June 22; Wii)
– Spore Creature Creator (June 17; PC, Mac)
– Spore (September 7; PC, Mac, DS, mobile phones)
All these titles are only a prelude of what’s to come from the EA Games label, with expected hits like Battlefield Heroes, Dead Space, Mirror’s Edge and Warhammer Online due out for the holiday season, among many others. And none of this includes sports or casual titles, so once you factor those brands in EA will be pumping out all sorts of shit between now and the end of the year.
