Leading up to the September 16th Nintendo 3DS launch of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call, Square Enix is running a Legacy of Music Campaign to bring gamers up to speed on the illustrious history of Final Fantasy music. The campaign begins with a look back to 1987 in a new vignette highlighting the characters, gameplay and tunes from Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy III. Ahhh, the good old days.
Additional vignettes as well as other Curtain Call announcements will be made as the Legacy of Music Campaign continues. Stay tuned!
P.S. Don’t forget to pre-order the ovation-worthy Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call collector’s edition.

Following last year’s Steam re-releases of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII, Square Enix is once again digging into its catalog of old Final Fantasy games to bring back for PC gamers to enjoy. This time around, Final Fantasy III is getting the Steam treatment.
Not the original version, but the version that was remade with 3D polygonal graphics for the Nintendo DS and then later ported around to various other mobile platforms like Android, iOS, and PSP. Now it’s coming to Steam with the works, including achievements, trading cards, cloud saves, and full controller support. Not even FF VII and VIII had all those perks.
The official list of features goes a little something like this:
•New and improved 3D visuals and story sequences
•Quicker browsing through the monster bestiary and other game record
•New visual designs for the Job Mastery Cards
•Upgraded graphics
•Achievements
•New feature of Steam Trading Cards
Improved though they may be, the textures don’t look so hot blown up for big-screen play, but the game definitely still has that classic Final Fantasy charm going for it. Other than a vague “coming soon” proclamation, Square Enix hasn’t confirmed a specific launch date or price point.
