Gearing up for the holiday shopping season, Nintendo today announced an assortment of hardware products and bundles that are sure to please any gamer on your gift list this year.

Paying tribute to the 25th birthdays of Super Mario Bros. and the NES, Nintendo will soon be releasing “Mario Red” Wii and DSi XL systems as part of limited-edition bundles. The $200 red Wii bundle will come with matching red remote and Nunchuk controllers, a copy of New Super Mario Bros. Wii and a copy of Wii Sports. The DSi XL bundle, also in “Mario Red” with graphics signifying Mario’s birthday, will be available for $180 and come with a copy of Mario Kart DS and the usual assortment of pre-loaded software, including Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters, Brain Age Express: Math and Photo Clock.

Nintendo has also announced the long-awaited Wii Remote Plus. You know, the remote the Wii should have come with from the very beginning. The Wii Remote Plus is an all-in-one controller with the Wii MotionPlus, currently an extra dongle you have to attach to the bottom of the remote, now built directly into the remote as a standard hardware feature. Moving forward, the Wii Remote Plus will be included as the default controller with all Wii consoles and bundle offers, and will also be sold separately for $40 in white, black, teal and pink color schemes.

And speaking of bundles, Nintendo’s upcoming tennis-meets-pinball action game, FlingSmash, will be paired together with the new Wii Remote Plus for $50. The game will require Wii MotionPlus to play, so the marriage makes perfect sense.

When can you get all of these products? Easy: all of them — the red Wii, the red DSi XL, the Wii Remote Plus and FlingSmash — are scheduled to ship on November 7th.
