I’m not sure whether it’s a good thing or not, but cult classic fantasy comedy The Princess Bride has spawned a new mobile game for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch (requires iOS 6.0 or later).

Made by Gameblend Studios, The Princess Bride game relives iconic moments from the movie via four screen-swiping mini-games–fighting off the shrieking eels, scaling the Cliffs of Insanity, swordfighting with Inigo Montoya, and wrestling against Andre the Giant–each offering leaderboards as well as unlockable audio clips and images from the movie. A free update coming soon will also introduce a challenge based on the Fire Swamp scene.

The Princess Bride is $3.99 on the App Store. If I had a smartphone or tablet I’d probably check it out because I am a big fan of the film and find the cartoonish art style appealing, but in all honesty it does look like typical licensed movie game shovelware. If anyone out there decides to play it, let me know how it turned out in the comments. Even though I’ll likely never get a chance to play it, I’d still love to hear if it actually does the movie justice.

Here’s a look at the official launch trailer:
