Namco Bandai sent over a huge press kit full of screenshots and other assets from the company’s annual Global Gamers Day. The event was headlined by new game announcements, including GRID Autosport, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2, Sword Art Online, Tales of Hearts R, and a free-to-play PC fighting game called Rise of Incarnates collaboratively designed by the teams behind Tekken, Soulcalibur, and Gundam Extreme VS. New screens are also in for games like Tales of Xillia 2, Lords of the Fallen, Enemy Front and plenty of anime-related goodness. Enjoy!

GRID “8 Ball” DLC Pack Drifts Onto PSN, XBLM

Buckle your seat belts, GRID racers. Today marks the launch of new downloadable content for Codemasters’ spectacular, must-buy racing game released over the summer for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. The new “8 Ball” DLC add-on launches today on PSN and Xbox Live Marketplace for $9.99/800 Microsoft Points, augmenting the base GRID experience with eight new high-performance rides drivable in online competition and Race Day mode and two all-new multiplayer events. The Xbox 360 version will also include four new Achievements worth 25 Gamerscore points each. Details on DLC for the PC version will be announced soon as well, so fret not PC gamers, you won’t be left out.

GRID “8 Ball” DLC Pack:

– McLaren F1 GTR – The McLaren F1 GTR wrote itself into the history books as the only GT car to ever win Le Mans outright in the modern era and is considered one of the finest examples of automotive engineering in history.

– TVR Cerbera Speed 12 – The TVR 12 smashes past 60 MPH in just under 3 seconds. Production models were planned, but they were considered too powerful to sell to the general public.

– Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X – For over a decade the Evo has been billed as a supercar slayer – now the Evo-X in GRID lets you unleash its sledgehammer aggression in the Pro-Tuned class.

– Honda S2000 – This roadster is heavily modified for drifting and has become a cult-favourite thanks to its award winning engine.

– Nissan GT-R (S-G2008) – One of the world’s hottest cars makes its debut in Race Driver: GRID in its fully tuned racing spec.

– VW Nardo – This powerful concept car made real from VW uses its 600BHP engine to rocket to 60MPH in 3.1 seconds.

– Pontiac Firebird Trans AM – The 1971 racing edition of this true American legend is a worthy addition to GRID’s exclusive group of muscle cars.

– Volvo C30 – Adding to Race Driver: GRID’s touring car roster comes the C30, Volvo’s agile, cutting edge hot-hatch straight from the STCC grid.

Achievement Challenges:

– Jack Of All Trades – Win an online race in each of the 8 Ball pack cars.
– Drift Master – Achieve a 99x combo in the Honda S2000.
– Gas Guzzler – Clock up over 250 miles in your favourite 8 Ball pack car.
– Clean Passing – Win a clean race in an 8 Ball Pack car from last position.

Codemasters Revs Up GRID PC Demo

The GRID demo that launched last week on PS3 and Xbox 360 is now available for PC download too, Codemasters announced today. Here’s a quick overview of the demo content for those interested:

Delivering intense competition right from the off, the demo enables players to compete in single-player GRID World events and 12-player online races. In the single-player GRID World showdowns, take to the wheel of a Ford Mustang GT-R on the streets of San Francisco in the eBay Motors Muscle Cup; in Japan, compete in a Nissan S15 Silvia in the Advan Drift Trophy at Yokohama Docks, while the sweeping curves and hairpins of the Jarama circuit in Spain plays host to the Euro Touring Cars championship featuring BMW 320si touring cars.

For players who want to compete online, the demo delivers 12-player online competitions at the European and U.S. locations.

Play the GRID Demo, Compete for a Ford Mustang GT-R

Codemasters’ newly launched demo for GRID is more than just a demo, it’s also a competition. To participate, download either version of the demo (it’s on both PS3 and 360) and complete the eBay Motors Challenge Time Trial. If you successfully beat the record lap time, you’ll get a 12-digit code to enter at the GRID giveaway page. The five players with the fastest lap times will each win a trip for two to the GRID launch party taking place on June 4th in San Francisco, California, at which point the finalists will compete for the grand prize eBay Motors-liveried Ford Mustang GT-R valued at $90,000!

PlayStation Store Explodes With Demos

Free up some hard drive space PS3 owners (I’m not joking, I just had to myself), the weekly PSN update has commenced and there are three new must-play PS3 demos to take for a spin, including Haze (1.474 GB), GRID (962 MB) and The Bourne Conspiracy (1.654 GB). On top of that, there’s a PSP demo now available for SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2 too. It’s going to be a busy night of downloading, that’s for sure…

Oh, and I can’t forget to mention that the sweet Mirror’s Edge gameplay video from the UK PlayStation Day is up on the PlayStation Store as well. Can’t wait to watch that in HD baby, even after I’ve watched it like a hundred times already.

A new pair of of GRID videos just pulled into the VGB garage. First up is an intense, high-octane gameplay trailer showcasing racing action on the eBay Motors Muscle Series racetrack. Then once you’re done watching that, hit the jump for a video interview with Hiroki “Sleepy” Furuse, a professional Judge for the European Drift Championship who is working as a drift consultant for the game.
