Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp might as well be called Friday the 13th – The Video Game. Tom Savini, who did makeup and effects for the early Friday the 13th movies, and Harry Manfredini, who composed the original film’s iconic score and soundtrack, are both working in the same roles on the game. Now comes the news that Kane Hodder, the actor behind the mask of Jason Voorhees in four of the movies (among other horror movie credits), has signed on to do motion capture work as the playable killer in Gun Media’s ode to 1980’s splatter films.

As seen in the video embedded up top, Hodder has a short but terrifying message for players: “I’m going to kill every one of you motherfuckers.” Gotta love it!

The third-person horror game will drop 6-8 players into a campground setting just like Friday the 13th‘s Camp Crystal Lake. One player will be the crazed killer chasing down the other players filling the roles of the dopey teens who run off into the woods alone, walk into dark rooms, trip over things, or find other ways–usually during acts of sex or in states of undress–to leave themselves hopelessly vulnerable to being butchered.

Summer Camp doesn’t have a release date yet, but it is in development for PC (Steam), PS4, and Xbox One.
