Infographics are generally nothing but a collection of useless stats and facts about a subject, and I generally don’t bother acknowledging them. But for a silly, immature, somewhat mindless game like Saints Row IVread our review to see just how zany fun it is–a collection of useless facts couldn’t be more appropriate. It’s important to know that there are 10 different words for ‘crotch’ in the game’s character customization code. And that there are 30 different weapons with around 450 upgrade possibilities. And that the open world has over 1,600 collectibles tucked away for you to find.

In fact, Volition and Deep Silver have provided so many reasons why playing Saints Row IV is better than real life, that I had to chop the infographic into pieces and put it into its own gallery, or else you would be scrolling down this page another 8,000 pixels to view the graphic as a whole!

So, What Do Gamers Think of the PlayStation 4? Survey Says… http://www.vgblogger.com/so-what-do-gamers-think-of-the-playstation-4-survey-says/19990/ Thu, 21 Feb 2013 22:44:28 +0000 http://www.vgblogger.com/?p=19990
PS4_GamersOpinion

Although reports are still rolling in with new bits of information, the dust has for the most part settled on the big PlayStation 4 reveal yesterday and now the gaming community is abuzz with gamers and critics sounding off with their early thoughts about the console and the event itself. Website Gamersuggestions posed its own survey to a panel of gamers and condensed its findings into a handy infographic, and I thought it might be fun to take a closer look at the results. Shall we?

Overall, the PlayStation 4 appears to have made a good first impression, the console achieving an average rating of 8.1 out of 10. 57% of the 233 surveyed gamers said they will buy the PS4 and only 4% answered with a flat no, which leaves 39% at various levels of undecided. All games that were shown received positive feedback as well, Watch Dogs and Killzone: Shadow Fall being the two most popular of the show, tallying 37% and 16% of the votes, respectively.

On the negative side, polled gamers were most disappointed by the no-show of the console itself. Views on the new DualShock 4 were also mixed, the controller achieving overall approval at a 7.8 likability value but leaving some folks miffed over the symmetrical analog sticks. Gamers apparently love the Xbox 360’s asymmetrical sticks, though personally I love the DualShock’s sticks where they are and am happy Sony didn’t move them around.

Gamers aren’t so high on Sony’s social media push with the PS4, though. When posed the question “If you could make one suggestion to improve the PlayStation 4, what would it be?” the most popular suggestion came from a gamer who said “Lay off the social media crap and let me play my games.” I couldn’t have said it any better myself.

Updated Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Infographic http://www.vgblogger.com/updated-mass-effect-3-multiplayer-infographic/15346/ Thu, 10 May 2012 01:36:39 +0000 http://www.vgblogger.com/?p=15346 MassEffect3_MultiplayerInfographic

Multiplayer in Mass Effect 3. I don’t think many gamers took it seriously before the game launched or expected it to be a long-lasting draw once the campaign had been completed. However, in the two months since its release, the multiplayer component appears to have spawned a dedicated following. That, or so many copies have sold that a mass volume of gamers experimenting with a few rounds before returning to the single-player has been enough to skew the stats a bit.

Either way, the multiplayer statistics are very impressive for a solo-first RPG. According to this shiny, new infographic from EA, nearly 23 million multiplayer matches have been played and well over a trillion credits have been spent. Firebase White seems to be the community’s preferred map, drawing 36% of the total match count, and apparently a lot of players are dying as 84 million medi-gels have been used to revive fallen comrades. Gold difficulty must be damn tough, too, because only 3.5% of the 10.5 million successful extractions have met the gold standard.

Peek at the infographic for other interesting stats like these. Any thoughts? What has your Mass Effect 3 multiplayer experience been like? Are you still playing?
