2012 has become the year of the compilation. Sony’s been going nuts with its PS2 HD remake bundles and the recently launched line of PS3 franchise compilations, BioWare has a Mass Effect Trilogy pack on the way, and Ubisoft is doing the same thing for Assassin’s Creed with the Ezio Trilogy. Now it’s Rockstar’s turn to cash in on the bundle craze, and in typical Rockstar fashion, they’re doing it bigger and badder than everyone else.

The Rockstar Games Collection Edition 1, due out November 6th for PS3 and Xbox 360, will feature four great games in a single box. Those four games are Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noire, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, and Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition. The complete set will only cost you the price of a single game: $59.99. That’s a crazy value!

By now I’m sure you noticed the ‘Edition 1’ label on the collection, which clearly intimates that this is only the beginning of more Rockstar collections to come. Obviously Rockstar still has plenty of games and franchises to milk, between Max Payne, other GTA installments, Bully, The Warriors, Manhunt, Table Tennis, etc. I would certainly be up for HD remakes of Red Dead Revolver (I liked it more than Redemption to be honest), Manhunt and the old Max Payne titles. A compilation with Max Paynes 1-3 would kick serious ass for sure.
