Avengers allies and Marvel Pinball regulars Captain America and Iron Man are returning once more to the arena of flippers, ramps, and shiny steel orbs in the next downloadable table from Zen Studios. But this time the two superhero teammates aren’t playing so nice together.

Inspired by a six-part comic series of the same name from 2006, the Civil War table will have pinball wizards choosing sides in the war for or against the Superhuman Registration Act. Will you align with Iron Man to support superhuman registration or will you join the opposing force led by Captain America?

The choice you make will lead to different table actions and events. Siding with Captain America, for example, will draw the Punisher into the fray to fight on your side, while joining team Iron Man will enlist the Thunderbolts as your allies in the epic superhero civil war. Other heroes, such as Spider-Man, Spider-Woman and Ms. Marvel, will factor into the conflict as well, but their allegiances are up for grabs.

Civil War will be available soon as standalone DLC for Marvel Pinball and Zen Pinball 2 on PSN (with Cross Buy between PS3 and Vita), Pinball FX2 on Xbox Live Arcade and Windows 8, Zen Pinball 2 on the Mac App Store, Zen Pinball on iOS, and Zen Pinball THD on Google Play.

I’m actually growing a bit tired of The Avengers theme, but hey, it’s a new table from the best damn video game pinball makers in the business so I can’t complain too much. Hopefully after this, though, Zen will bring some new blood. Tables for Deadpool and Punisher are long overdue, that’s for damn sure.
