Activision and Infinity Ward premiered the launch trailer for Modern Warfare 2 tonight during the World Series (sneak peek version) and the latest episodes of South Park and The Ultimate Fighter (full version), and as always the trailer has filtered onto YouTube. The trailer is fantastic and really gets the adrenaline pumping, but that’s no shock. What caught my eye most was the split-second tease of space gameplay. Around the 58-second mark in the trailer, there’s a scene of a satellite exploding from what appears to be the perspective of the player character. Looks like Call of Duty is going intergalactic!

Microsoft, Activision and Infinity Ward teamed up at a LA press event Tuesday evening to unveil a Limited Edition Xbox 360 console in honor of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
The Modern Warfare 2-branded Xbox 360 will come with a 250GB console, two wireless controllers, and a standard edition copy of the game for $400, which is a great deal. But am I the only one who continues to be amused by how Microsoft (and Sony too) just can’t seem to settle on a single SKU and leave well enough alone? Every time they phase out one model and introduce a new one, they always put out another higher-end model. The cycle will never end!
But anywho, back on subject here… The Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360 is available for pre-order at participating US retailers, such as GameStop, effective immediately, and will be available for pre-order in other global regions later on in the week. The system will ship November 10th alongside the game’s retail launch.
It’s a value-packed bundle with sexy packaging, but the console paint job doesn’t impress me too much — it’s just a black 360 with gray numbers and lettering on it. Check the picks in the gallery to see if does something more for you.

Infinity Ward has unveiled an absurd Prestige Edition box set for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 — yes, the game has been officially rebranded with the Call of Duty franchise tag by Activision. The Prestige Edition will come with everything you can see pictured above, which includes a functional pair of night vision goggles, a sculpted “Soap” McTavish head to display the goggles on when not in use, and a copy of the Hardened Edition of the game containing an art book, steelbook collector’s case, and a token to download the original Call of Duty for free. Yep, the first Call of Duty is coming to PSN and XBLA!
Now to the question I’m sure many of you are asking — how much will this Prestige Edition cost? Unfortunately, pricing details haven’t been given yet. But seeing that the Hardened Edition is priced at $79.99, you can expect the Prestige Edition to push the $100+ mark. How much would you pay for some cheapy NVGs and a McTavish head sculpture?
Watch the official Prestige Edition unboxing video below.
