Hatsune Miku is taking over the world!
After successfully establishing a Western fanbase with the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva titles on PS3 and Vita, Sega is taking the anime Vocaloid rhythm game series on tour to the wonderful world of Nintendo to give 3DS gamers a chance to get in on the fun. This new game will actually be released first in the U.S. (by only a couple days).
Developed specifically for Nintendo 3DS, Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX‘s global tour dates are as follows: May 26 in North America, May 28 in Japan and Korea, and May 29 in Europe. The game will be sold at retailers and via digital download across all regions. Pre-order opportunities will be announced soon.
As I’m sure you’ve already noticed from the box art and screenshots pictured on this page, Project Mirai DX has been developed in collaboration with Good Smile Company to use the charming design style of the popular Nendoroid collectible figure line for all the characters. (I have a Funko Pop! Vinyl Hatsune Miku in my figure collection, but I’ve really been wanting to collect some of the Nendoroid Petite series as seen here. They are just too cute!)
The game itself will offer these features:
– 48 fan-favorite songs
– Game modes including “Touch Mode” and “Button Mode”
– Multiple levels of difficulty
– Customization options such as challenge/support items, change timing indicators and target icons, and swap out vocals in certain songs
– Watch music videos and add scrolling commentary in the Mirai Theater
– Choreograph custom dance routines using the Dance Studio editor
– Compose custom song phrases in My Tune mode
– Customizable Player Cards which can be shared with the community over StreetPass and kept current via SpotPass
Now back to more screenshots of those adorable Nendoroid characters!
