Okami looked lovely on the PS2. It was even lovelier when it re-released on the Wii. Now it’s been repainted in HD for PlayStation 3, and yep, it’s just about the prettiest game you’re ever going to lay eyes on. It’s amazing how much more those vibrant colors and canvas textures pop with a little high-definition upscaling.

Another Capcom Wii favorite is getting the PlayStation 3 HD with PlayStation Move remake treatment, joining the soon-to-be-released Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection. This time, it’s Okami, which first rose to cult fame on PS2 before getting an improved motion control update for the Wii.
Okami HD will be out this fall as a $19.99 digital download over the PlayStation Network in North America and Europe. (Boo, no retail release, but the game will have a full trophy list including a Platinum.)
Players will be able to take control of Amaterasu the old fashioned way using a DualShock or pull out their PlayStation Moves to more naturally paint the screen with the Celestial Brush. The refreshed 16:9 HD graphics look absolutely stunning (see the trailer at the bottom).
